CAFNEC has long supported the introduction of net-free fishing zones in sensitive areas and areas subject to heavy human environmental pressure along the Queensland coast.

This campaign targeted the Albanese government ahead of the 2023 budget. Focussing on the Middle Arm gas precinct, it called for no new fossil fuel subsidies in the May 2023 budget and a reverse of existing gas expansion/infrastructure subsidies.

This campaign targeted the Morrison government demanding they strengthen their net zero by 2050 climate target to a net zero by 2035 target, with a 75% reduction in emissions by 2030.
