We fought a hard fight against Gunns in stopping their proposed pulp mill – and won. Gunns is an example of what we can do together for our wilderness as we stand up against unsustainable businesses.

Logging and mining are decimating Tassie's spectacular forests every day. We’ve lost too much ancient forest already. We know there is a better way to do business. Continuing down this path will only damage more irreplaceable forests and fail more local communities.

While the TCT’s goal is to stop the mill rather than bring down a company, this certainly has deterred any other investor from coming forward.

The Conservation Council is working with local community groups and alliances like WA Forest Alliance to save precious forests.
