Come along and be part of Creating Transition Canterbury Bankstown
Australia has fortunately been shielded from the most recent financial crises and food shortages affecting other countries, but it’s only a matter of time (sooner than later) before a radical reshaping of how we do things locally will be the priority of the moment – individually and as a community. A local region Transition Network will involve people from all around the Canterbury, Bankstown, and the St George districts
What is a Transition Network?
A Transition Network is a community-led process that helps a town/village/city or neighbourhood become stronger and happier. It’s happening in well over a thousand highly diverse communities across the world. These communities have started up projects in areas of food, ransport, energy, education, housing, waste, arts and so on – as small-scale local responses to the global challenges of climate change, economic hardship and shrinking supplies of cheap energy. Together, these small-scale responses make up something much bigger, and help show the way forward for governments, business and the rest of us – we are the community!
