The Acting Queensland Premier, Jackie Trad, said the severe conditions could be attributed to climate change [caused by carbon pollution like burning coal].
“There is no doubt that with an increasing temperature with climate change, then what the scientists tell us is that events such as these will be more frequent and they will be much more ferocious,” she said.
[That’s why we have decided to secure the short-term economic benefits of approving Adani’s coal mine while our people and their livelihoods burn. The Queensland Government is making sure this is just the beginning of your suffering by proactively making sure future fires are worse still, and that the planet will be uninhabitable for most people except our big corporate mates.
