About

The Sunshine Coast Environment Council aims to reduce water consumption and to improve recycling to make sure there is enough water for the future without having to create new Dams.

Dams are the last option that the Sunshine Coast Environment Council wants to see on the Sunshine Coast due to the huge costs to tax payers as well as the environmental effects, which include the consequences of not having regular flows that ecosystems have relied and been built upon as well as the loss of habitat from the flooded river.

Currently the coast’s water company, Aquagen is running a series of ads with a form to fill out in regards to the future water supply of the Sunshine Coast. We feel this form is not effective as it already has quantitative values assigned for each of the options, that were achieved via a consultant. We wrote a letter to the company.
