About

The team at JCN were very excited to welcome our community (old and new) to celebrate Tu B’Shvat with a picnic in the park for the second year in a row!

Like last year, we spent hours laying in the sun and shade (under huge trees) grazing on delicious vegetarian food, getting creative with art & craft, Zumba dancing, playing games, getting our faces painted and connecting with other Jews in the celebration of trees (Tu B’Shvat). Tu B’Shvat – meaning “the 15th of the month of Shvat” – is a full-moon festival marking the new year of the trees. It is one of four “new years” on the Jewish calendar and is a celebration of the Jewish connection to the natural world.
