An estimated 50 million trees are bulldozed in Australia each year, leading to the deaths of over 70 million native animals as a result of deforestation across Australia. A healthy ecology of our native forests is an important resource for future generations. It assists in the supply of clean water and food production, as well as ensures the survival of threatened species of native flora and fauna. Native forests are an important sink for atmospheric carbon, making them an important measure to help ameliorate rising temperatures from climate change. Vets for Climate Action has long advocated for an end to native forest logging and we are proud to support the Forest Pledge, on behalf of the animals we love and care for. To learn more, visit https://theforestpledge.com.au/ and write to your MP to invite them to take the pledge!
