Surfrider Byron Bay presented the fourth stop of our paddle out series in opposition of the proposed offshore oil and gas exploration project, PEP11. The event capped off an incredible month and we would like to give a huge shout out to all the volunteers that helped out along the way.

Outcome Evidence: In 2024, the NSW government introduced legislation to ban offshore oil and gas exploration and mining, which includes the PEP-11 project. In Jan 2025, the Commonwealth-New South Wales Offshore Petroleum Joint Authority made the decision to refuse both the PEP-11 applications. (Ascertained Feb 2025.)
