WE’RE BUILDING THE PEOPLE POWER TO #STOPADANI
◦ Shifting the Politics: MPs need to know if they don’t #StopAdani, we’ll elect someone who will.
◦ Building a powerful movement: Groups are popping up all over the country to #StopAdani and say #NoNewCoal. Join or start one!
◦ Stopping money flowing to Adani: We’ve made 35 of the world’s banks rule out funding Adani.
Why Stop Adani?
◦ Can’t Trust Adani: Tax havens. Fraud and corruption investigations. Pollution disasters. We can’t trust Adani. The mining, transport, and burning of coal kills people. Pollution from burning coal is the single biggest contributor to dangerous global warming, threatening our way of life.
◦ Robs Our Water: Queensland is in drought. Adani’s mine will suck out at least 270 billion litres of water over its lifetime. Draining rivers, ancient springs, and aquifers of the Great Artesian Basin.
◦ Fuels Global Warming: Burning the coal from Adani’s mine will lead to more extreme weather and further destruction of the Great Barrier Reef.
◦ Trashes Indigenous Rights: Adani’s mine, rail and port project will destroy the ancestral lands, waters and cultures of Indigenous people.
Take Action

◦ Join the Global Climate Strike! On September 20, three days before the UN Emergency Climate Summit, the #StopAdani movement is stepping up to join the Global #ClimateStrike led by young people from the School Strike 4 Climate movement.
◦ Share your selfie: Share a selfie to show you’re committed to stop Adani’s coal mine. Let’s show Adani that there’s a growing movement of people who will never accept this planet-cooking mine!
◦ Pledge now to #StopAdani! We refuse to let our future go up in flames for the greed of a handful of coal billionaires. Sign the pledge to show Adani you’re committed to do what it takes to stop their planet-cooking coal mine.
