About

Update: We’ve cleared the remaining hurdles and uploaded the broadcast version to satellite ready for the TV networks to play – the ad will play tomorrow afternoon in Sydney and Melbourne, and Monday afternoon in the rest of the country! Kevin Rudd’s meagre 5% climate targets are the kind of policy John Howard would be proud of. The timing is perfect – Rudd’s pollsters are closely monitoring public reaction to Monday’s climate targets announcement. This strong ad will show Kevin Rudd Australians won’t let him get away with breaking his election promise to deliver strong carbon reduction targets.

Your contribution will allow us to show this ad to millions of Australians right across the country during the biggest TV event of the season: the Boxing Day Cricket Test. Can you contribute $25, $50, $100 or more to put this ad on air?

Why this ad is politically effective
We’ve worked with expert media and political strategists to craft a politically effective ad. Kevin Rudd made climate change one of his major points of difference going into the election. Yet as Howard’s former Chief of Staff, Grahame Morris, said on Monday “he’s not too far away from where John Howard or the Coalition would have ended up”1. Linking Rudd’s climate policy to Howard is an incisive way to undermine the Government’s $130 million “information campaign” to sell us his sparse climate package.

What your contribution will achieve.
During the Boxing Day Test we will show this ad across the country, targeting key marginal electorates. The more you contribute, the more we can show the ad. Your donation will directly result in more ad spots and increased political impact.
