About

The Save the Cassowary Campaign is working to protect the remaining Cassowary populations in Queensland through protecting and restoring habitat and addressing the impacts of dog attacks and vehicle strikes. Through this campaign we work with a number of Far North Queensland and other supporting conservation organisations. RIC began working on this project in 2010 with a postcard and petition campaign calling on the Australian government to finance land purchase and habitat protection projects in the Daintree Lowland Rainforest and at Mission Beach.

We are currently supporting our partners Rainforest Trust Australia with their Daintree Rewilding project and with local governments in Far North Queensland to address issues related to dog attacks on Cassowaries.
