About

Over four weeks GetUp supporters took part in a campaign targeting the Howard Government’s VSU Bill, a law that will drastically cut services on university campuses around the country. The campaign included a TV ad and a letter of support to the Howard Government members who had expressed concerns about the bill. We thought it was important that these MPs know they are not alone in their opposition to this ideological attack. Almost 8500 Australians came to the site and signed the letter of support. On Tuesday 27 September 2005, students from across Queensland came to Brisbane to present the letter in person to Senator Barnaby Joyce, one of the ten recipients.
