It’s clear the Government is failing to ensure even the most basic of care for asylum seekers on Manus Island and Nauru. Earlier this year, violence on Manus Island left one man dead and 62 people injured. Meanwhile on Nauru, a report that was never meant to be seen by the public, reveals the dire state of healthcare available to asylum seeker children, babies and pregnant women inside the Nauru detention centre. It is shameful that we are still sending people to these detention centres when we can not guarantee their safety, or their health.
