About

Dear Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Federal Energy Minister Angus Taylor,
Opposition Leader, and Shadow Energy Minister Mark Butler

Australians want fair dinkum, clean and reliable renewable energy. We have some of the best solar and wind resources in the world, so making the switch to 100% clean, renewable energy—and beyond—is not only possible, it’s a no-brainer.

At the moment, the big, polluting energy corporations are gouging consumers and making a mint from spiralling electricity prices. It’s hurting Australian families and businesses. A fair, planned transition to distributed renewables with storage can alleviate energy stress, put the power back in the hands of the people, and create a boom of clean energy jobs and investment.

Since renewables with storage are the cheapest new-build energy generation, the market is driving the renewable revolution. But it’s up to you to make the right decisions so that the transition is fast and fair for everyone – and that includes ruling out funding for dirty and uneconomical coal-fired generation.

We are calling on all sides of politics to keep the renewables boom going in the next term of government by committing to:

Mandate solar on all new homes;
A 5GW renewable storage target by 2025, including a rebate for 100,000 households to install batteries;

Solar for 500,000 renters.

We love this sunburnt country, and that’s why, for a brighter future we support clean, renewable energy.

Yours sincerely
