How did we arrive at this score?
This evaluation of the Northern Territory Government’s performance on climate during the 2022-2023 financial year is based on key recommendations made by the peak body of global climate science, the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The results make clear the fact that the Northern Territory Government is failing to take adequate action on climate change. This puts Territorians at risk, and means the Territory continues to miss out on opportunities to be a leader in the just transition to renewable energy and a healthy, livable future.
