Nuclear weapons facts

The 2003 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) preparatory committee meeting is underway.
The agreement behind this treaty is that countries with no nuclear weapons stay that way, and countries that have weapons will get rid of them.
Greenpeace is at the meeting (April 28-May 10) and demanding that all nuclear weapons states (US, UK, China, France, Israel, India, Russia and Pakistan) meet their treaty obligations and disarm. Read the latest Greenpeace updates ( 1, 2 , 3 ) from the meeting.
