Everyone loves a beautiful garden.
Imagine if our Shire were abundant with vegetation and habitat– in our yards, our public spaces, our nature strips and even our industrial spaces. Sutherland Shire Environment Centre is making that vision a reality with our Bewildering project, as well as campaigns for wildlife corridors. Bewildering is bringing wildlife to live with us. It’s about creating beauty with vegetation, establishing habitat for native species and improving the quality of life we live. Bewildering is a very deep human response to our relationship to our world especially our immediate environment that recognises our place in it, our dependence upon it, and our responsibility to it. It is more than a charming term; it is a term for charming. It is not just such things as planting trees, greening, cuddling koalas and saving whales. As Bewilderers, we would enhance the place where we live to make it as healthy as possible for us and allow for as much wildlife as possible to share it with us. Sutherland Shire Environment Centre is working with Sutherland Shire Council to bewilder our Shire. It is about creating our place as a place to belong for us and for wildlife.
