Forests For Climate. The Australian Forests and Climate Alliance is working to encourage the Australian government to implement the following policies:
– The legislative protection of Australia’s biodiverse native forests;
– The creation of a Green Carbon Fund. This fund would provide much needed funds to protect and restore Australia’s natural carbon stores. This fund will deliver the permanent protection of natural carbon stores and result in immediate reduction in greenhouse gas emissions;
– A significant funding package for a transition of the wood and paper products industry away from native forests in Australia;
– A significant funding package for the conservation of native forests on private land across Australia;
– A fully funded landscape conservation, restoration and integrated-catchment management program across Australia and;
