About

CURRENT CASE: Challenging government secrecy over the Robodebt scandal
Justin Warren is using the Freedom of Information Act to find out who knew what about the botched Robodebt scheme – one of the biggest scandals in recent Australian political history.

PAST CASE: Defending the voting rights of people in prisons in SA
Every election, Justice Action publishes an impartial guide to voting for people in Australia’s prisons. But when the South Australian government tried to block it they got more than they bargained for.

RESOURCE: Know your protest rights in NSW
Holding a placard high above your head and marching down the street demanding change can be a very powerful thing and is vital to a healthy and accountable democracy.

FOI PROJECT: The Federal government has a secrecy problem
The Freedom of Information (FOI) system shines a light into the darkest places of government. It makes it possible for journalists, advocates and communities to hold governments accountable to the people they serve.
