We all love nature in Australia. Spotting koalas in big old eucalypts. Listening to magpies warble in the morning sun. The awe of ancient landscapes, surfing on golden beaches, watching tiny seedlings sprout and grow. Nature is part of who we are. But right now, life in Australia is in trouble. We are living in a climate and extinction crisis. At a time when we need nature more than ever, Australia is a deforestation hotspot with one of the worst rates of mammal extinction in the world. Unless we rapidly turn this situation around, we face a dangerous and uncertain future. But together, we can fix this. Some useful reading:

Nature is the solution
Nature is a key part of the solution – to bringing wildlife back from the brink of extinction, solving the climate crisis, and re-connecting our communities. Healthy forests, rivers and oceans provide homes for wildlife and filter the air we breathe and the water we drink. Big old trees cool our towns, cities and our climate. More nature makes people happier and communities feel more connected. Together, we must:
* Connect communities to nature and to each other, right across this beautiful country
* Protect the places and wildlife we love
* Restore the damage so everyone and every living thing can thrive
When our laws fail to protect the air we breathe, our wildlife and the places we love, it is clear the system is failing us.
