Gecko was represented at the February 2011 Gold Coast Community Cabinet by several members of the Gecko advocacy team. The attachments below are the briefing papers made available to you, as presented to the Premier and various Ministers, which represent Gecko’s current thinking on these issues.
The briefing papers:

– The Broadwater;
– Climate Change;
– Forest Interpretative Centre;
– Joint Management of Springbrook conservation lands and legislation;
– Koalas and biodiversity;
– Nuclear energy and uranium mining;
– Boral quarry;
– Stop the Overhead Power-lines.
We were able to secure appointments with the Premier Hon Anna Bligh, Hon Kate Jones, Minister for Environment and Resource Management, Hon Stirling Hinchcliff, Minister for Mining, Hon Steven Robertson, Minister for Energy and Water Utilities, and Hon Jan Jarret, Minister for Tourism, as well as the Director General of State Development which incorporates planning. The deputations generally went well and we felt that we were heard. Responses from the Ministers to our briefing papers are available by emailing our advocacy team.
